Under Federal law, any casualty or accident must be reported to the USCG within 24 hours.
In addition to contacting the Coast Guard, please contact MLA Fishermen Services at 781-545-5073 within the same 24 hour time frame. This applies whether you think this incident will evolve into a claim or not.
There are occassions when an incident occurs on a weekend or outside of normal business hours. Should this be the case, please call MLA Fishermen Services and leave a voice mail in the claims mail box (X12).
You must advise:
- Current date and time of your call
- Insured’s name and vessel name.
- Your best contact number.
- What type of incident occurred.
A representative from MLA Fishermen Services will return your call during the next scheduled business day.

If you experience a hull claim and require immediate assistance, please contact the closest surveyor on call in your area.
Health and well being is first and foremost. Whether you treat a wound yourself or seek medical treatment from an emergency facility, please contact MLA Fishermen Services and report the incident as soon as possible. You will be given a claim # to be given to the injured crewmans medical providers.
