Accident & Casualty Reporting
Federal law requires that any casualty or accident be reported to the U.S. Coast Guard within 24 hours.

In addition, please contact MLA Fishermen Services at 781-545-5073 within the same 24-hour period—whether or not you believe the incident will develop into a claim. Prompt reporting ensures we can support you right away and keep your coverage on track.

There are occassions when an incident occurs on a weekend or outside of normal business hours. Should this be the case, please call MLA Fishermen Services and leave a voice mail at 781-545-5073 in the claims mail box (X12).

You must advise:

  • Current date and time of your call
  • Insured’s name and vessel name.
  • Your best contact number.
  • What type of incident occurred.

A representative from MLA Fishermen Services will return your call during the next scheduled business day.

Health and well being is first and foremost. Whether you treat a wound yourself or seek medical treatment from an emergency facility, please contact MLA Fishermen Services and report the incident as soon as possible. You will be given a claim # to be given to the injured crewmans medical providers.
